Santa Cruz, California, United States of America
Difficulty: 1.5 of 5 / Terrain: 1.5 of 5
Short Description:
A nice quiet place just outside downtown Santa Cruz. Cache is located in the
Great Meadow, you'll see why its called that when you get there.
Long Description:
Banana Slug Meadow Geocache
Approaching from the setting sun,
follow the large path of fire safety,
till one finds the solitude of Ken Norris,
the cache lies on the rim of a wash.
Help to keep this place as beautiful as you found it by sticking to the trails. Use the GPS to get close to the site using trails and paths (depressed grass pathways), there is almost no need for.
The cache is invisible until you are few feet away from it. Please take care to hide it in the same place. Also if you take any pictures of the cache or yourself then please e-mail them to me if you would like them posted. I wanted to include a disposable camera in with the cache, but I’m just a poor student so that didnt work out too well.
Notes
Cache is in a clear plastic rubbermaid container with a off-white lid. Anything you want to leave must be smallish and either waterproof or in a baggie.
Also important to note is that parking is free after 5 p.m. and don’t try to park and run to the cache, they will ticket you without hesitation (or put the boot on your vehicle which would really stink). Don’t try to find this cache in the dark, too easy to get hurt. Cache is suitable for children, with active parental supervision of course.
One last warning is that I don’t believe that pets are allowed (I promise to make it up to everyone with the next one that promises to be fun and pet-friendly).
This is my first cache that I have placed, so I would like good feedback, either by posting or e-mails, about what you liked and/or what you would like to see more of. I am a Santa Cruz resident and am planning on making a series of caches similar to that of MAMoran, so feedback would be cool! Thanks and good hunting!
